Why Choose 304H & 316H for High-Temperature Applications?

Both 304H (UNS S30409) and 316H (UNS S31609) are “H” grades of their respective base alloys—304 and 316—with controlled higher carbon content (typically 0.04–0.10%) to enhance high-temperature tensile strength and creep resistance. This makes them suitable for continuous service at temperatures up to 870°C (1600°F), far exceeding the capabilities of standard 304L or 316L.
