Through controlled quenching and tempering, 30CrMnSiA achieves a refined microstructure that delivers superior mechanical properties across a wide diameter range (typically 10 mm to 300 mm), making it ideal for critical load-bearing components subjected to dynamic stress, shock loading, or high-cycle fatigue.

Heat Treatment Process (Standard Q&T Cycle)

Austenitizing: Heat to 880–920°C in controlled atmosphere furnace
Quenching: Oil quench (agitated) for optimal cooling rate and minimal distortion
Tempering: 450–600°C for 1.5–2 hours, followed by air cooling
- Lower tempering temp (450–500°C) → higher strength, moderate toughness
- Higher tempering temp (550–600°C) → improved toughness, slightly reduced strength
