2507 should be solution annealed and quenched after either hot or cold forming. Solution annealing should be done at a minimum of 1925ºF Annealing should be followed immediately by a rapid air or water quench. To obtain maximum corrosion resistance, heat treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
2507 is requires an adjustment of tooling data and machining method, in order to achieve satisfactory results. Compared to Sanmac 316/316L, the cutting speed must be reduced by approximately 50-55% when turning 2507 with coated, cemented carbide tools. Much the same applies to other operations. Feeds should only be reduced slightly and with care
