Product Description
The ASTM A249 TP304/304L Welded Steel Pipe is a seamless, austenitic stainless steel pipe designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments. Made from high-grade stainless steel, it ensures high resistance to corrosion, heat, and chemical damage. The pipes are machine-finished to specified sizes, meeting strict dimensional and quality standards.
TP304L: Carbon (C) ≤0.035%, Silicon (Si) ≤1.00%, Manganese (Mn) ≤2.00%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.045%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.030%, Chromium (Cr) 18.00-20.00%, Nickel (Ni) 8.00-13.00%. Compared with TP304, TP304L has lower carbon content, making it less sensitive to intergranular corrosion during welding with better welding performance and corrosion resistance.

Welding Characteristics
These pipes offer good welding performance, though welding parameters and processes must be carefully controlled to avoid defects like thermal cracks and porosity. TP304L's low carbon content minimizes intergranular corrosion tendency during welding, but appropriate welding measures are still required, including suitable welding materials and controlled heat input. Post-weld heat treatment such as solution treatment can be performed to improve welded joint structure and performance when required.
Quality Control
Strict ASTM A249 quality control standards are followed throughout production, including raw material inspection, process control, and finished product verification. Raw materials must meet specified chemical composition and mechanical property requirements. Production controls include welding parameters, dimensional accuracy, and wall thickness uniformity. Finished products undergo appearance inspection, dimensional measurement, non-destructive testing (eddy current, ultrasonic), and mechanical property testing to ensure compliance with ASTM A249 standards.
