GCr15 steel has a small alloy content and good performance. Chromium (CR) has a tendency to increase hardness, toughness and wear resistance of steel. Chrome steel is a chrome Alloy carbon steel, not a chrome plated steel.

Although these chromium steel balls have good rust resistance, but it is recommended to use a dry cloth to wipe clean after use and apply a layer of oil, so that they have better rust resistance, to extend their service life.

High Quality Graded Hardened Chrome Steel Ball bearings made from Chromium GCr15 steel. Hardened to 60-67 Rockwell Scale equivalent to 700-900 HV (Vickers Scale) and are hardened all the way through the ball. These are the same hardened steel balls used to manufacture bearing assemblies and have a high duty and life cycle.

The high-carbon chromium bearing steel is a high-carbon alloy steel with 1.30~1.65% chromium. It is characterized by a more uniform and stable structure after heat treatment, high hardness, high uniformity, good wear resistance, high contact fatigue strength, and good dimensional stability and corrosion resistance after annealing, its cutting performance is good and the price is relatively cheap. This steel can meet bearing requirements under normal working conditions.

• Forging and Cold heading. Rough ball shapes are forged from bar stock material.
• Deflashing. Rough machining or soft grinding removes the forge flashing.
• Heat treatment. Balls are heat treated based on technical specifications in a controlled process.
• Finishing. Stainless steel balls skip this step. Other steel balls may be hardened using heat treatments, quenching, or other tempering methods.
• Hard Grinding.The steel balls are ground to remove nicks and imperfections.
• Lapping. A controlled mechanical sanding/polishing process brings the balls into the intended design, grade dimensions, and spherical accuracy within 1/1,000,000 of an inch.
• Inspection & Packaging. Lubricant or rust-preventive is applied as a final step before the steel balls are inspected and packaged.
