The 11Cr fins are made from martensitic stainless steel, containing around 11% chromium. This material is specifically chosen for:
· High-temperature strength: Ensures long-term structural integrity in high-heat environments.
· Weldability: Compatible with TP347H tube for efficient welding.
· Cost-effectiveness: A more economical solution than using fully stainless steel fins while still providing high performance.
TP347H vs. TP321H: Both grades are stabilized to resist intergranular corrosion. TP347H has superior high-temperature strength, making it more suitable for hotter sections of boilers. TP321H is often more cost-effective but best suited for lower temperature ranges.
TP347H vs. TP304H: TP304H is susceptible to sensitization in the weld heat-affected zone, which limits its use in high-temperature, corrosive environments. TP347H, on the other hand, is ideal for long-term service in these conditions.
· Petrochemical Cracking Furnaces: Used in convection sections of ethylene and steam cracking furnaces, where high-temperature corrosive gases are common.
· Power Plant Boilers: In superheaters and reheaters for coal-fired, waste-to-energy, and advanced cycle power plants.
· Chemical Process Heaters: Employed in hydrogen reformers, hydrotreater charge heaters, and other high-temperature chemical process heaters.
· Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG): Used in high-pressure superheater modules for gas turbine combined cycle systems.
· Syngas & Refinery Off-Gas Heaters: Suitable for systems exposed to high-temperature gases containing sulfur, chlorides, and other corrosive agents.
Q1: How does the solid fin design improve heat transfer compared to a bare tube?
A1: The solid fin design increases the external surface area of the tube by 5 to 12 times, significantly enhancing convective heat transfer on the gas side, leading to more efficient thermal performance.
Q2: What is the maximum continuous service temperature for this assembly?
A2: The TP347H tube can handle temperatures up to approximately 700°C (1292°F). However, the service limit of the entire assembly is influenced by the oxidation resistance of the 11Cr fins, typically limiting it to around 620°C (1150°F) for long-term use.
Q3: How does this product’s corrosion resistance compare to an all-stainless solution?
A3: The TP347H tube provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the 11Cr fins offer good oxidation resistance in high-temperature, dry gas environments. However, for wet or acidic environments, full stainless steel fins may provide better overall corrosion protection.
