Process Gas Heaters and Process Gas Coolers are critical unit operations in chemical, petrochemical, and refining processes, designed to precisely control the temperature of gaseous process streams.
A Process Gas Heater is a thermal device that transfers energy to a gaseous process stream, increasing its temperature.Common types: Fired Heaters(Furnaces); Heat Exchanger-Type Heaters; Electric Heaters.
A Process Gas Cooler is a thermal device that removes energy from a gaseous process stream, decreasing its temperature.Common types:Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (Fin-Fan Coolers);Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers;Direct Contact Coolers.
In both heaters and coolers, HFW finned tubes are a preferred choice for the heat transfer surface.The fins, welded onto the external surface of the base tube (which can be made to standards like ASTM A376, A335,etc. for high-temperature service), dramatically increase the surface area for heat transfer to or from the air or utility fluid. This results in a more compact, efficient, and cost-effective design.
ASTM A376 This specification covers seamless austenitic steel pipe intended for high-temperature central-station service. Among the grades covered are five H grades and two nitrogen grades (304N and 316N) that are specifically intended for high-temperature service.

The core value of ASTM A376 TP347H pipe material lies in its high-temperature performance:
1.Excellent intergranular corrosion resistance: Due to the addition of stabilizing element niobium, it can resist corrosion caused by the precipitation of chromium carbide in the sensitive temperature range (approximately 450 - 850°C). This makes it less prone to intergranular corrosion after welding or during long-term operation at this temperature range.
2.Excellent high-temperature strength and creep strength: The "H" grade ensures that the material has stronger resistance to deformation (creep) and fracture under long-term high-temperature and high-pressure conditions (typically above 525°C).
3.Good oxidation resistance and Material stability: It can form a stable chromium oxide protective layer at high temperatures, resisting oxidation by smoke and air.And when exposed to high temperatures for a long time, its microstructure remains stable and does not tend to become brittle.
Due to these properties, ASTM A376 seamless austenitic steel pipe intended for high-temperature central-station service,commonly used in boilers, heat exchangers, and other high-temperature applications.
