vs. ASTM A179 (Heat Exchanger Tubes): A179 is low carbon (0.06-0.18% C), softer, and used for lower pressures and temperatures (like condensers). A210 is stronger and used for boilers.

Testing and Inspection
To qualify as A210 Gr.C, each lot of tubes must pass:
Tensile Test: To verify the 485 MPa minimum.
Hardness Test: To ensure it does not exceed 89 HRB.
Flattening Test: To prove ductility for coiling and bending.
Flange Test: To ensure the tube end can be expanded (rolled) into a boiler drum without cracking.
Hydrostatic Test: To verify pressure integrity.
