ASTM B366 HASTELLOY C22 (UNS N06022 / W. Nr. 2.4602) Forged 180° Short Radius Return Bend is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy butt-welding pipe fitting manufactured in accordance with ASTM B366 / ASME SB366 standard. Fabricated from Ni-Cr-Mo-W solid-solution strengthened nickel alloy (UNS N06022) through forging forming and solution annealing heat treatment,it is classified as a 180° Short Radius (SR) Return Bend, with centerline bending radius customizable from 1D to 10D of nominal pipe size, standard configurations being R = 1D or 1.5D.

The fitting provides outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, making it especially suitable for harsh chemical environments. Like shell-and-tube heat exchanger U-tube bundles, fired heater coils, and highly corrosive media transmission lines.

*Physical Property:

Hardness and density: Hastelloy C22 has excellent hardness and density characteristics, with a hardness typically between Rockwell C 20-25 and a density of approximately 8.69 grams per cubic centimeter.

Thermal stability: This alloy has good thermal stability and can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments.

Manufacturing Process Specification

• Forming Process: Pipe fittings are formed by forging or by a combination of processes such as forging, rolling, and bending. For fittings of Class S (seamless) construction, seamless construction must be used.
• Heat Treatment: All pipe fittings must undergo final solution annealing. The typical solution annealing temperature for HASTELLOY® C22 (UNS N06022) is 2050°F (1121°C), followed by rapid cooling.
• Nondestructive Examination (NDE): Depending on the fitting construction category (S/W/WX/WU), corresponding non-destructive testing requirements must be implemented, including radiographic testing (RT) or ultrasonic testing (UT).

• HASTELLOY C22 (UNS N06022) is renowned as an "all-round" corrosion-resistant alloy and represents an upgraded version of the C-series alloys (such as C-276). Through the precise balance of a Ni-Cr-Mo-W quaternary alloy system, it overcomes the challenge of a single material simultaneously resisting corrosion from both oxidizing and reducing media.
• The high chromium content (20.0–22.5%) provides excellent resistance to oxidizing media, while the synergistic effect of molybdenum (12.5–14.5%) and tungsten (2.5–3.5%) enhances resistance to reducing acids. This makes the product particularly suitable for operating conditions involving alternating oxidizing and reducing process streams.
• No grain-boundary precipitates form in the weld heat-affected zone, allowing it to withstand various chemical processing conditions in the as-welded state.
