ASTM A213 Grade T2 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube is a standardized, chromium-molybdenum (Cr-Mo) low-alloy steel tubular product manufactured without a welded seam, specifically produced to meet the dimensional, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements of the ASTM A213 specification. When designated as a Heat Exchanger Tube, it is intended for use in high-temperature, high-pressure thermal transfer equipment such as shell-and-tube heat exchangers, condensers, and boilers, where resistance to creep, oxidation, and thermal fatigue is essential.
Why choose ally T2? T5, T9, and T22 are much more hardenable. T5/T9 are air-hardening (martensitic), requiring strict preheat (200–300°C) and immediate, precise PWHT. Choosing T2 saves significant fabrication time, lowers labor costs, and reduces the risk of welding defects (cracking) during shop assembly.
