Overview

ASTM A269 TP321 HFW solid fin tube is a high-efficiency heat transfer element engineered for general heat exchange equipment. The solid helical fins are permanently bonded to the TP321 stainless steel base tube by high-frequency welding (HFW), delivering reliable thermal performance, long service life and low maintenance cost in heat exchangers, condensers, air coolers, economizers and waste heat recovery systems. Compared with bare tubes, this finned tube dramatically enlarges the heat transfer surface and improves overall efficiency, making it one of the most widely adopted heat transfer components in modern industrial heat exchange equipment.

1. Heat Transfer Performance

In general heat exchange equipment, the finned tube significantly increases the external heat transfer area per meter of tube length. The helical solid fins also disturb the shell-side flow and create turbulence, which further enhances convective heat transfer. The metallurgical bond formed by HFW welding eliminates the air gap between fin and tube, keeping contact thermal resistance to a minimum. As a result, heat exchange equipment built with this finned tube achieves higher thermal duty with a smaller footprint, directly reducing both capital and operating costs.
