Inspection & Testing (per ASTM A209)
Tensile & Flattening Test: Ensures ductility.
Flare Test: Checks for soundness and ability to deform plastically.
Hydrostatic or NDT: Either a hydrostatic pressure test or an electromagnetic (eddy current) test is required.
Dye Penetrant (PT) or Magnetic Particle (MT): On U-bends, to detect surface cracks after bending and stress relieving.
Boiler Water Wall Panels: Circulating water/steam mixture.
Superheater & Reheater Sections: Exposed to high-temperature flue gas (up to ~1000°F / 538°C).
