This is a seamless carbon steel tube, manufactured according to EN 10216-2 standard, made from P235GH grade material, delivered in TC1 (normalized) heat treatment condition, and bent into a "J" shape (a long straight leg with a 180° return bend at the bottom). It is installed as a water-carrying element in boilers – typically forming the bottom turn of a furnace wall or an evaporator loop – where it allows water to flow down, turn 180°, rise, and absorb heat to generate steam. The J-shape eliminates extra headers, reduces welds, and accommodates thermal expansion.

Installation and Fabrication Notes (How It Is Used by the Boiler Maker)
The J‑tube is typically supplied pre-bent to the boiler manufacturer’s drawing (radius, leg lengths, orientation).
Straight ends are beveled for butt welding to headers, drums, or other tubes.
Multiple J‑tubes are often arranged in a panel (membrane wall) by welding a steel strip between adjacent tubes.
Before installation, each tube is hydrostatically tested (per EN 10216-2) to ensure no leaks.
In service, the tube is part of a natural circulation loop – no external pump on that tube (except in forced-circulation designs).
Industrial watertube boilers (e.g., in refineries, chemical plants, power stations) – used as floor tubes or furnace arch tubes.
HRSG boilers – J-tubes in the evaporator section.
Biomass/waste-to-energy boilers – waterwalls where corrosion resistance of P235GH is adequate.
