Testing & inspection
Hydrostatic test OR nondestructive electric test is at the manufacturer’s option. If you require hydrostatic specifically, you must say so. Otherwise you may receive NDE only.
Flattening test is mandatory for A192. Flaring test is not required for A192, but it is required for A179. Dual-certified A179/A192 tubes will therefore have both.
No weld repairs. Because A192 is seamless, welding repair of defects is generally not permitted. Defective sections are cut off or rejected.
NDE method is not fixed. If NDE is used, the manufacturer may choose eddy current or ultrasonic. If you need a specific method, specify it.
