ASTM A268 TP430Ti / UNS S43036 is a titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel tube grade covered by ASTM A268/A268M, Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Ferritic and Martensitic Stainless Steel Tubing for General Service. One thing need your attention -- (chemical composition) the titanium addition stabilizes carbon and nitrogen, reducing sensitization and improving resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding. Always confirm exact chemistry with the current ASTM A268/A268M edition and the mill certificate. From raw material to final inspection, our factory will strictly follow the latest version of ASTM/ASME specification and client's additional requirements if any.

Heat Treatment
TP430Ti is normally supplied in the annealed condition. Typical annealing is around:
1400–1550°F / 760–845°C, followed by air cooling or rapid cooling.
Ferritic stainless steels can suffer from:
475°C / 885°F embrittlement after long exposure around 400–550°C.
Sigma phase formation at higher temperatures in some ferritic grades.
Therefore, high-temperature service and post-weld heat treatment should be evaluated carefully.
Application
For heat exchangers specifically, it is usually selected only when the corrosion/oxidation conditions suit a 16–19% Cr ferritic stainless steel and when 304/316/439/444 or duplex grades are not preferred.
