A Semi-finished Welded H-section Steel Column is a primary structural member fabricated by welding together three steel plates—a web and two flanges—to form an "H" or "I" shaped cross-section. Unlike hot-rolled H-beams, these are custom-produced to meet specific, non-standard dimensional and strength requirements that exceed the scope of rolled sections. Supplied in a semi-finished state (typically shot-blasted and with mill scale removed), it is prepared for immediate final fabrication steps such as cutting to exact length, drilling bolt holes, welding end plates or connection details, and final surface treatment/painting.
