ASTM A270 TP304 sanitary stainless steel welded tubing is manufactured for fluid-handling systems where controlled surface condition, corrosion resistance and dimensional consistency are important.
The tubing is produced from TP304 austenitic stainless steel and can be supplied with mechanically polished or electropolished surfaces according to project requirements. Different polishing grades and specified surface roughness values can be accommodated for the inside surface, outside surface, or both.
The welded construction provides a practical solution for sanitary piping layouts requiring consistent dimensions and suitable surface finishing. ASTM A270 also specifies requirements for heat treatment, mechanical testing, nondestructive testing and sanitary surface finishes.
