Overview
ASTM B163 N08825 is a standard specification for seamless nickel and nickel alloy condenser and heat exchanger tubes. The specification covers tubes made from nickel-chromium-iron alloy (UNS N08825), which is also known as Incoloy 825.The ASTM B163 N08825 specification covers tubes in sizes ranging from 5/8 inch to 1 1/4 inch (15.9 mm to 31.8 mm) outside diameter, with wall thicknesses ranging from 0.035 inch to 0.065 inch (0.89 mm to 1.65 mm). The tubes are intended for use in condensers and heat exchangers for general corrosion-resisting and low or high-temperature service.
The tubes are required to be furnished in the annealed condition and shall be free of defects such as cracks, seams, laps, and other imperfections. The chemical composition, mechanical properties, and other requirements of the tubes are specified in the standard.Overall, ASTM B163 N08825 provides a standard specification for seamless nickel and nickel alloy tubes used in condensers and heat exchangers, ensuring that the tubes meet certain requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, and other characteristics.
