Product Overview
The ASTM A182 F316L Slip-On Flange is a forged stainless steel pipe flange designed for connection with piping components by welding. It features a raised face (RF) sealing surface and is dimensionally manufactured in accordance with ASME B16.5.
F316L is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel grade containing chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Its low carbon content and molybdenum addition make it suitable for piping systems where corrosion resistance and material compatibility are important considerations.
The slip-on configuration allows the pipe to pass through the flange before welding. This design is commonly selected for industrial piping where installation and alignment requirements favor a relatively simple flange arrangement.

Material Characteristics
ASTM A182 F316L is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel forging grade. Compared with standard 304L stainless steel, F316L provides a higher level of resistance to localized corrosion in many chloride-containing and chemical service environments.
The low carbon content of F316L also makes it suitable for welded piping assemblies where the material specification requires a low-carbon stainless steel grade.
