ASTM A213 T5 seamless tube is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel tube specified for boiler, superheater and heat-exchanger service. Grade T5 is identified as UNS K41545 and contains approximately 4.00-6.00% chromium and 0.45-0.65% molybdenum according to ASTM A213 requirements.
The Cr-Mo alloy composition provides a combination of elevated-temperature strength and resistance to oxidation compared with conventional carbon steel tubing. The seamless construction is suitable for pressure-containing heat-transfer equipment where welded seams are not preferred.
The tubes can be supplied in hot finished or cold finished conditions according to the applicable specification and purchase requirements.
