ASTM A106 GR.B Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe High Temperature Service
ASTM A106 Grade B Pipe is a specification and grade for high temperature, high pressure carbon steel pipes.
This specification covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service (Note 1) in NPS 1⁄8 to NPS 48 [DN 6 to DN 1200] (Note 2) inclusive, with nominal (average) wall thickness as given in ASME B36.10M.
It shall be permissible to furnish pipe having other dimensions provided such pipe complies with all other requirements of this specification.
Pipe ordered under this specification shall be suitable for bending, flanging, and similar forming operations, and for welding. When the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable to the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized.

The A106 Grade B Seamless Pipe is used in applications where hot gases and fluids are transported at elevated temperatures. This is important to keep the energy consumption down at these plants. A: There is no difference between A106 and SA106.
SA106 is a grade of American ASME, and A106 is the grade of ASTM.
Q2: What does the mark CD in the steel pipe SA106Gr.B standard mean?
A: CD means cold drawn,SA106 stipulates that pipes below DN40 can be hot-rolled or cold-drawn; pipes above DN50 are conventionally hot-rolled. When the manufacturer and the purchaser reach an agreement, cold-drawn manufacturing is allowed.
