Inconel 600 Flanges are known to show good tensile strength at an elevated temperature up to 1150ºC while exhibiting freedom from stress related corrosion cracking. The high chromium content present in the alloy of Werkstoff No. 2.4816 Nickel Alloy 600 Flanges is what improves its oxidation resistance properties. While the high nickel content added to the alloy is what imparts these flanges with good corrosion resistance under reducing conditions. Adding nickel to the alloy ensures the ASTM B564 Alloy 600 Pipe Flange has the ability to withstand elevated temperature settings.
The alloy also displays very good levels of resistance to chloride stress related corrosion cracking. Frequently the B564 N06600 Alloy 600 WNRF Flange is used in those environments that contain ammonia or where pitting is a regular occurrence such as in freshwater, brine solutions or marine environments. Additionally, alloy 600 is well suited to those applications which are exposed to exhaust gases as well as most organic acids and compounds. BS NA 13 Alloy 600 Blind Flange also performs well at cryogenic temperatures, without compromising its mechanical properties. Applications of the Alloy 600 RTJ Flange include carburising and nitriding atmospheres, food processing, furnace components to withstand oxidising as well as nuclear engineering and spark electrodes.
