This product is a Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS) seamless tube manufactured according to the ASTM A789/A789M standard. The material grade is S32750 (UNS S32750), commonly known as 2507 Duplex Steel.
ASTM A789/A789M is the standard specification for seamless and welded ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel tubing intended for general service, with a particular focus on corrosion resistance and resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Tubes supplied to this standard are furnished in a heat-treated (solution-annealed) condition to ensure optimal microstructure and properties.
S32750 is a super duplex stainless steel characterized by a microstructure of roughly 50% austenite and 50% ferrite. This dual-phase structure combines the advantages of both:
High Strength: From the ferritic phase.
Excellent Toughness and Ductility: From the austenitic phase.
Its key material advantage is an exceptionally high Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN ≥ 40), which guarantees superior resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC), especially in chloride-containing environments.
