This product conforms to the latest ASTM A213/A213M-24 standard, which defines the specifications for seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy-steel boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes. The standard size range typically covers tubes with an outside diameter (OD) from 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) to 5 inches (127 mm) and wall thicknesses from 0.015 to 0.500 inches (0.4 to 12.7 mm). As a seamless tube, it is manufactured without a welded seam, ensuring uniform strength and enhanced safety in critical pressure applications.

Material & Key Characteristics

ASTM A213 T9 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, often referred to as a 9Cr-1Mo type steel. This composition gives it a series of advantageous properties:

  • High-Temperature Strength: Excellent resistance to deformation (creep) under stress at elevated temperatures.

  • Good Oxidation Resistance: The chromium content forms a stable oxide layer that protects against scaling in steam and flue gas environments.

  • Thermal Stability: Maintains its mechanical properties during long-term operation in high-heat conditions.

To achieve these properties, the tubes are supplied in a heat-treated condition, which typically involves normalizing and tempering processes.
