This product is a seamless pipe manufactured from the nickel-iron-chromium alloy Incoloy 800H (UNS N08810), in full compliance with the ASTM B407 standard.
The ASTM B407 specification covers the requirements for cold-worked and hot-finished annealed seamless pipe and tube made from alloys including UNS N08810. This standard ensures the material meets strict criteria for chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing.
A key characteristic of Incoloy 800H is its design for high-temperature service. While alloys like UNS N08800 are used up to 593°C (1100°F), Incoloy 800H is engineered for applications above 593°C (1100°F) where superior resistance to creep and rupture is critical. It is supplied in an annealed condition with a controlled grain size to achieve optimal properties in this demanding temperature range.
Incoloy 800H is an austenitic, heat-resistant alloy known for its excellent balance of high-temperature strength, resistance to oxidation, and corrosion resistance.
Its performance stems from a precisely balanced chemical composition, with nickel providing a stable matrix and chromium enabling the formation of a protective oxide layer. The "H" grade indicates a controlled carbon content and an optimized aluminum-to-titanium ratio, which enhance its structural stability and resistance to sensitization and intergranular corrosion at high temperatures.
