ASTM A179 this specification covers minimum-wall thickness, seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tubes for tubular, heat exchanger,
condensers, and other heat transfer services, other large heater equipments / pressure vessels. A179 carbon steel tube is produced by cold drawning method and it is widely used in industries such as power generation, oil&gas refining and petrochemical, HVAC&R, marine and shipbuilding, industraial manufacturing and process industries,etc.
A179 seamless carbon steel tubes' primary use is in the shell-and-tube heat exchangers and condensers that are the workhorses of power plants, refineries, and large-scale HVAC systems.
