ASTM B366 WP20CB buttweld equal tee is a permanent branch connection for pipelines carrying extremely corrosive fluids. Its Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) composition – rich in nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper – works by forming a stable protective surface film that resists attack from sulfuric, phosphoric, and acetic acids as well as chloride pitting. The buttweld ends are welded directly to pipes, providing a smooth, crevice-free, full-strength joint that cannot leak or loosen over time. The equal tee design splits or merges flow equally in all three directions, making it ideal for process branches, recirculation loops, or header systems in chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing plants where ordinary stainless steel would corrode within weeks.
