ASTM A179 Embedded Fin Tubes, also known as G-Type Fin Tubes, are manufactured by machining a precise helical groove into the outer surface of an ASTM A179 seamless carbon steel tube. A continuous fin strip is mechanically inserted into the groove, and the surrounding tube material is rolled over the fin base to create a secure mechanical bond. This manufacturing process ensures excellent fin retention, efficient heat transfer, and long-term operational reliability.
ASTM A179 is a low-carbon seamless cold-drawn steel tube specifically developed for heat exchangers, condensers, and similar heat transfer equipment. Its excellent thermal conductivity, good formability, and reliable mechanical properties make it an ideal base tube material for embedded fin tube production.
Embedded fin tubes significantly increase the external heat transfer surface area while maintaining excellent resistance to vibration, thermal cycling, and continuous industrial operation.
