Product Overview: High Frequency Welded Studded Finned Tubes
Studded finned tubes, also known as nailhead tubes or pin fin tubes, feature cylindrical studs (pins) resistance-welded or high-frequency welded to the outer surface of a base tube. This design significantly increases the heat transfer surface area—typically 2-3 times that of bare tubes—while maintaining excellent mechanical strength and fouling resistance.
Our ASTM A213 T9 base tube with carbon steel (CS) studs combination excels in high-temperature applications. The T9 alloy provides outstanding creep resistance, oxidation resistance, and high-temperature strength, while robust carbon steel studs enhance external heat transfer in convective sections.

Weld Joint: High-frequency resistance welding creates a strong, continuous metallurgical bond with minimal heat-affected zone, ensuring durability under thermal cycling and vibration.
Embedding/Welding Process: Studs are automatically welded using high-frequency or resistance methods at controlled pitch. Weld penetration is typically ≥1.5 mm with low bead height (≤1 mm) and no spatter. This process ensures robust attachment suitable for high-temperature service up to ~600°C (grade-dependent).
