1. Overview
This equipment is a high-efficiency Shell and Tube Intercooler designed and manufactured in strict accordance with TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) standards. It is primarily utilized in multi-stage compressor systems (such as air compressors or process gas compressors) to cool gases between compression stages, thereby maximizing volumetric efficiency and minimizing power consumption.
With dual certification for ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and NBR / NR-13 (Brazilian National Standards), this heat exchanger meets the highest international safety and quality benchmarks, making it fully compliant for deployment in both global markets and strict Brazilian industrial sites.
2. Design Codes & Certifications
Thermal & Mechanical Design: TEMA Class R, C, or B (optimized based on the process medium and severity).
Pressure Vessel Code: ASME Section VIII, Division 1 (with official U Stamp certification).
Brazilian Compliance: Fully compliant with NR-13 and relevant NBR standards, including localized mechanical calculations, hydrotest validation, and nameplate requirements.
Welding Qualifications: ASME Section IX and AWS.
3. Structural Features & Key Advantages

Reliable Sealing & Corrosion Resistance: Tubes are joined to the tubesheets via strength welding plus expansion, completely eliminating the risk of cross-contamination between the gas and cooling water.
Integrated Moisture Separation: As an intercooler, the vessel features strategically placed baffles and dedicated condensate drain outlets to efficiently capture and remove moisture precipitated during the gas cooling process.

Upon delivery, a comprehensive Quality Assurance Data Book will be provided, including:
ASME U-1 Form (Manufacturer's Data Report for Pressure Vessels).
NR-13 / NBR Compliance Certificate signed by a registered Brazilian Legal Presumed Professional (PH - Profissional Habilitado).
Material Test Reports (MTRs) for all pressure-retaining parts.
Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
