ASME SB725 is a specific standard specification for welded nickel and nickel alloy pipes, applicable to UNS N04400 nickel-copper alloy welded pipes. The pipes covered by this standard are supplied in annealed or stress-relieved conditions, primarily targeting general corrosive environments and mechanical applications.

UNS N04400 is a nickel-copper solid solution strengthened alloy, typically with a nickel content of at least 63% and a copper content of 28%–34%. Its significant characteristic is that it requires no aging hardening treatment; high strength can be achieved through cold working alone—a typical behavior of solid solution strengthened alloys.

Therefore, ASME SB725 UNS N04400 welded pipes can be considered a dedicated nickel-copper alloy piping solution for strongly reducing acidic media and seawater environments. It is particularly suitable for applications with stringent corrosion resistance requirements, such as hydrofluoric acid (HF) alkylation plants, marine engineering pipelines, and chemical processing equipment.
