Key Characteristics of ASTM A403 WP304H stainless steel pipe fittings
High-Temperature Strength: The primary advantage of 321H is its superior strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures (typically above 1000°F / 540°C) compared to standard 321 or 304/304H.
Resistance to Sensitization: The titanium stabilization prevents sensitization during welding or high-temp exposure, maintaining corrosion resistance.
Corrosion Resistance: Good general corrosion resistance typical of austenitic stainless steels. Resistant to oxidation at high temperatures.
Pressure Rating: Its pressure rating is determined by the matching pipe schedule (e.g., Sch 40, Sch 80, Sch 160, XXS) as per ASME B16.9 (the dimensional standard referenced by A403). The "H" grade allows it to be used at higher pressures at elevated temperatures.
Dimensions: Must conform to ASME B16.9 ("Factory-Made Wrought Buttwelding Fittings").
Testing & Certification: Supplied with a Material Test Report (MTR/Certificate of Compliance) meeting A403 requirements, including chemical analysis and mechanical properties. Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) like RT (radiographic testing) might be specified for certain applications or schedules.

Butt Weld Elbow (45°)

Butt Weld Elbow (90°)
A 90-degree buttweld elbow changes the direction of the pipe flow by a right angle (90 degrees). This is the most common type of elbow used in piping systems. Available in different radii (short radius or long radius), which affects the flow rate and pressure drop.
Butt Weld Elbow (180°)
A 180-degree buttweld elbow creates a U-bend in the piping system, reversing the flow direction completely. It effectively allows for full redirection in the piping layout. Commonly used in applications where a return flow is necessary, such as in cooling systems and certain hydraulic applications.
