PRODUCT DESCRIPTION OF PET PLASTIC STEEL BELT
 

PET strapping (also known as plastic steel strapping) is an environmentally friendly heavy-duty strapping product made primarily of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and has successfully replaced traditional galvanized steel strapping and heavy-duty PP strapping.

FEATURES:

High Strength------ Tensile strength is close to that of steel strapping of the same specification, while elongation is much lower than PP strapping (typically ≤10%), maintaining strapping tension for a long time and preventing loosening.

Safe and Environmentally Friendly: No sharp edges, preventing injury to personnel during handling; rust-free and chemically resistant, preventing contamination of goods; recyclable, meeting green packaging requirements.

Economical and Lightweight-------Density is approximately 1/6 that of steel; 1 ton of PET strapping is equivalent to 6 tons of steel strapping of the same specification in length, with a cost per meter more than 40% lower than steel strapping, saving on usage costs.

Dual Compatibility------Supports heat fusion bonding (no clips required, high efficiency) or metal buckle connection, compatible with fully automatic, semi-automatic, and manual strapping tools.

ADVANTAGES:

1. Durable Locking Strength, Long-Term Secure Bonding

PET strapping molecules have a directional tensile structure with an elongation rate of only 10%-18%, offering significantly better creep resistance than PP strapping. It won't slowly stretch or loosen during long-distance transport or months of storage, maintaining tension throughout and preventing cargo collapse or unpacking.

2. Embossed Anti-Slip Design, Prevents Shifting

The surface of PET strapping features a diamond-patterned texture, greatly increasing friction. It prevents slippage on smooth surfaces like stone, metal pipes, and wood, and provides greater stability for multi-layered stacked goods.

3. Combining Rigidity and Flexibility, Cushioning and Impact Resistance

Combining high rigidity with cushioning toughness, it absorbs impact during transport bumps and loading/unloading collisions, unlike steel strapping which can break easily. It effectively protects fragile and high-value goods. 4. Burr-free, safe material, won't damage goods or hands

PET strapping has a smooth, flat cut without sharp edges, preventing scratches to operators and scratching metal, stone, or furniture paint. It also eliminates the safety hazard of steel strapping breaking and rebounding.

Why do raw materials need to be dried?
For PET plastic steel strapping, "dehumidification and drying" is the key link in the molding of PET products.
PET is a hygroscopic polymer. It will quickly absorb moisture in the air and increase the moisture content of the material.
For example, if the completely dried PET resin is in contact with air at a relative temperature of (30-40)℃ for 12 minutes, its moisture content will reach %. The trace amount of moisture remaining in the material will also cause water degradation of the PET melt, reduce the viscosity (IV), cause the mechanical properties of the product to decrease, and the appearance will show silver spots. In the production process, the moisture content in the PET material decreases, the special viscosity increases (Table 2), the relative molecular weight increases, and the mechanical properties of the product also increase accordingly, so the PET plastic steel strapping tape is relatively safe during transportation and bundling.
