Centralizer Stop Collars
Discover the applications and distinctive characteristics of centralizer stop collars, also known as position rings, stop circulars, brake rings, and more. These collars come in three types: mobile screw-type, fixed screw-type, and buckle-type. Their primary purpose is to prevent the axial movement of centralizers or cement baskets on the casing during cementing operations.
a. Mobile Screw-Type Stop Collar: Slide the collar over the casing and use a wrench to securely tighten the screws.
b. Fixed Screw-Type Stop Collar: Place the collar around the casing, insert the screws, and gently tap them into position using a hammer.
c. Buckle-Type Stop Collar: Attach and fasten the stop collar onto the casing using the buckle mechanism, and secure it with a pin. Subsequently, use a hammer to gently tap the screws into place.
