Stab-in Casing Float Collar And Float Shoe API or As required
The stab-in float collar and shoe method is an advanced technique employed in drilling operations to effectively cement casings with larger diameters. This approach involves directly inserting the drill pipe into either the float shoe or collar, enabling the pumping of cement through the drill pipe until it reaches the surface. To ensure precise placement, a wiper dart can be used to push the cement to the bottom of the drill pipe. Following this, the drill pipe is lifted, circulated to ensure proper distribution of the cement, and then extracted from the wellbore.
It is crucial to emphasize that when employing the stab-in float collar and shoe method, substantial plugs are required to separate the cement from the drilling mud. These plugs, along with any cement present in the casing, must be drilled out. This technique is specifically designed for cementing large diameter casings installed using drill pipes. Due to the significant displacement volume associated with these larger casings, special considerations should be taken into account throughout the cementing process to ensure its success.
The Stab-in cementing technique is a highly efficient method used in drilling operations to effectively cement larger diameter casings. By utilizing a smaller diameter inner string of drill pipe, it minimizes displacement volume and reduces contamination, resulting in time savings.
To minimize the need for drill-out of cement inside the large casing, the Stab-in Shoe incorporates a plunger valve and displacement fluid in the drill pipe. This allows precise control over displacement and enhances the quality of the cement. The reduced cement/mud interface area and high flow velocity within the drill pipe minimize contamination, while the short pumping time eliminates the need for cement retarders.
A significant advantage of the Stab-in method is the reduction in cement volume. Unlike conventional displacement methods that require excess cement calculations, the Stab-in method simplifies the process by considering only the volume of the drill pipe as excess cement, eliminating the need for large plugs.
The Stab-in technique significantly reduces rig time by improving displacement accuracy and minimizing the drill-out process. This leads to reduced circulating, pumping, and drill-out times, ultimately increasing operational efficiency.
Additionally, the Stab-in method offers casing protection as the cementing pressures are confined to the drill pipe, similar to a squeeze job. This safeguards the casing from excessive pressure.

Furthermore, the Stab-in cement Float Shoe & Collar can be customized with various combinations, including Double Valve, to meet specific requirements.
