Measures For Oil Leakage Due To Inadequate Oil Seal:
Gain a thorough understanding of counterfeit and substandard products to ensure the procurement of high-quality, compliant oil seals.
If the shaft diameter's outer surface exhibits low roughness, rust, burrs, or other imperfections, polish it smoothly using fine emery cloth or a whetstone.
Apply clean engine oil or grease to the oil seal lip or the corresponding shaft contact area.
Coat the oil seal’s outer ring with sealant, and protect the shaft’s keyway by wrapping it with stiff paper to prevent lip damage.
Use a dedicated installation tool to press the oil seal in with a rotating motion—never hammer it directly, as this may deform the seal or dislodge the spring, causing failure.
If lip folding, spring detachment, or misalignment occurs, remove and reinstall the seal properly.
Important: Do not adjust the inner spring tension unless the shaft shows wear or the seal’s spring force is insufficient.
Regularly inspect and maintain oil seals under the following conditions:
Harsh operating environments
Significant ambient temperature fluctuations
Excessive dust or contamination
Frequent machine tool vibrations that alter component stress distribution
Promptly repair or replace components if:
The shaft or bearing exhibits severe wear
The rubber seal deteriorates (hardening, cracking)
The sealing spring loses tension or fails
