Seal failure due to wear of the seal face;
1. The materials used in the friction pair have poor wear resistance, large friction factor, and excessive pressure on the end face, which will shorten the service life of the mechanical seal. Alloy - carbon graphite, ceramic - carbon graphite, spray ceramic - carbon graphite, silicon nitride ceramic - carbon graphite, high speed steel - carbon graphite, push welding cemented carbide - carbon graphite;
2. For the medium containing solid particles, the entry of solid particles into the surface of the seal is the main reason for the failure of the seal. The solid particles enter the end face of the friction pair to act as an abrasive, causing the seal to wear violently and fail. The reasonable clearance of the sealing surface, the balance degree of the mechanical seal, and the flash evaporation of the liquid film on the sealing end surface are the main reasons for the opening of the end surface and the entry of solid particles;
3. The degree of balance of the mechanical seal also affects the wear of the seal. In general, the degree of balance is 75 degrees as appropriate. Although the amount of wear decreases, the leakage increases and the possibility of opening the sealing surface increases. For high-load machinery For sealing, due to the large friction heat of the end face, the balance degree is generally 70 degrees. For hydrocarbon media with boiling point, etc., since the temperature is more sensitive to the gasifiC.A.Tion of the medium, in order to reduce the influence of friction heat, it is appropriate to balance 85 degrees.
