It is the smallest and highest-speed professional racing rear wing in the AXIS Foils racing narrow-tail wing series. It emphasizes extremely low drag and zero-delay, responsive steering, targeting top-tier advanced wave-surfing enthusiasts. It is suitable for bodyboard hydrofoils, SUP hydrofoils, and wing surfing.
It boasts the smallest chord length in the entire Skinny series, with an extremely thin wing body and smallest cross-sectional area, reducing drag in water to the lowest level in the series. Its top speed surpasses 300 and 320; high-speed straight-line gliding is virtually lag-free, providing a significant advantage in long-distance racing.
The core advantages of the Surf Skinny series are maximized in the 280: instantaneous synchronization with fade, sharp wave cuts, continuous changes of direction, and small-radius gliding feedback, allowing for rapid changes in gliding trajectory even with slight shifts in the center of gravity; the anhedral structure at the wingtips compensates for the high-speed drifting defects of narrow wings, preventing tail-wagging and loss of control during high-speed, high-angle gliding, a handling setting specifically designed for professional racing.
The one-piece molded carbon fiber structure results in minimal deformation under high-speed water flow impact, providing a direct and clear feel to the control panels; the dense carbon fiber surface is resistant to seawater corrosion, and the weight is significantly lighter than the older G10 fiberglass version; the downside is that the thin wing is easily damaged by impacts, making it unsuitable for frequent bottom-scratching practice on the beach.
Combining the low-drag, high-speed characteristics of the Skinny series with the roll stability of the Progressive series, it is specifically tuned for high-speed environments with large waves and strong winds, sacrificing low-speed lift for maximum speed and steering agility, without prioritizing hydrodynamic endurance.
