Installing an Air Spring with Flange Ring
To install an air spring with a flange ring, you can follow the steps below based on the information gathered from various sources:
Step 1: Fasten the Upper Bracket
Fasten the upper bracket to the air spring using 3/8"-16 flange nuts .
Step 2: Attach the Lower Bracket
For 4WD vehicles, fasten the left lower bracket to the air spring with a 3/8"-16 x 3/4" flange bolt. For 2WD vehicles, use a 3/8"-16 x 2" flange hex bolt and ensure the open end of the spacer mounts towards the lower bracket .
Step 3: Position the Fittings
Install the elbow fitting into the air spring through the large access hole in the upper bracket. Tighten the air fitting securely to engage the orange thread sealant. Position the fitting to point to the anticipated location of the air inflation valves .
Step 4: Secure the Ring
Secure the ring by snapping the round clip spring or snap ring into the groove on the flange tailpiece .
Step 5: Tighten the Mounting Ring Assembly
Use appropriate tools such as a hammer and rag to tighten the mounting ring assembly .
