When you are driving at high speed, the suspension can be hardened to improve the stability of the car body; when driving on uneven roads at low speed for a long time, the control unit will soften the suspension to improve the comfort of the car.

How to replace it?
Replacing air suspension components takes some work, but it can be done by yourself.
●Turn off the air suspension switch. Find the air suspension switch.
●Raise and support the vehicle. Bleed the air suspension system.
●Disconnect the electrical connector from the air spring solenoid. Remove the air line from the air spring solenoid.
●Remove the air spring solenoid valve from the air spring assembly. Remove the rear air spring retainer located on top of the air spring.
●Lift the air spring off the bottom bracket of the rear axle. Place the bottom of the air spring on the bottom spring bracket on the shaft.
●Compress the air spring assembly by hand.
●Install the spring retaining clip on top of the air spring. Install the air spring solenoid into the air spring.
●Connect the air spring solenoid valve electrical connector. Connect the air line to the air spring solenoid.
●Lower the vehicle to the ground. Turn the pendant switch back to the on position.
