Safety Preparation: Park the truck on a flat, firm surface, engage the handbrake, and securely lock the wheels with wheel chocks. Use the vehicle's original mechanical or hydraulic lifting system to raise the cab to a service position and ensure the lifting arm is fully locked.
Removing the Old Air Spring: Locate the faulty air spring at the connection between the cab floor and frame. Release air pressure by pressing the valve stem or slowly loosening the inflation line connector. Disconnect the inflation line and remove the bolts connecting the air spring to the frame and cab.
Installing the New Air Spring: Compare the new and old parts to ensure they are identical. Clean the mounting bracket, place the new air spring in position, and hand-tighten the bolts. Reconnect the inflation line securely. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Testing and Final Inspection: Lower the cab and start the engine to allow the air system to build pressure. Observe the new air springs for proper expansion and check for leaks with soapy water. Conduct a test drive to ensure proper suspension operation.
