Important: The serpentine belt is under tension. Use the correct tool to release belt tension before removing the belt. Note the belt routing before removal for correct reassembly. Locate the deflection guide pulley on the front of the engine. Release tension on the belt and remove the belt from the pulley. Remove the mounting bolt securing the pulley. Remove the old pulley assembly. Install the new pulley and tighten the mounting bolt to factory torque specifications. Route the serpentine belt according to the routing diagram (refer to the vehicle service manual or the diagram on the engine). Ensure the belt is correctly seated on all pulleys. Start the engine and check for proper belt operation and noise. Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with serpentine belt systems.
