Structural characteristics
Electrode system: It has six electrodes, generally using graphite electrodes or self baking electrodes. The electrode is connected to the power supply through an electrode accessory system, which can achieve operations such as lifting, pressing, and releasing. The electrodes are usually arranged symmetrically in a double triangular pattern, with two wires in a group, evenly distributed inside the furnace. This arrangement can make the electric and thermal fields in the furnace more evenly distributed.
Furnace body: Similar to other mineral thermal furnaces, it consists of a furnace shell and lining. The furnace shell is welded from steel plates to provide support and protection; The furnace lining is made of refractory materials such as high alumina bricks and carbon bricks to withstand high temperatures and erosion from materials inside the furnace. The top of the furnace is equipped with a hood to collect the flue gas generated during the smelting process.
working principle
The six electrode DC ore furnace supplies power to the six electrodes by converting alternating current into direct current. The current starts from the power source and enters the furnace charge through the electrodes. In the furnace charge, the current forms a complex current path. By utilizing the arc heat generated between the electrode and the furnace charge, as well as the resistance heat generated by the resistance of the furnace charge when the current passes through it, the raw materials such as ore, carbonaceous reducing agent, and solvent are heated to high temperatures, promoting the reduction reaction of metal oxides in the ore and generating metals or alloys. Due to the characteristics of electrode arrangement and DC power supply, the heat distribution inside the furnace is more uniform, the arc stability is better, and it can effectively improve smelting efficiency and product quality.

Improving furnace capacity: Compared to traditional three electrode submerged arc furnaces, the capacity of submerged arc furnaces can be increased several times without increasing the electrode diameter, which can better meet the needs of large-scale production.
Improving furnace reaction: The six electrodes are evenly distributed, making the shape of the dissolution pool in the furnace closer to a circle, increasing the dissolution pool area, reducing dead corners, facilitating full reaction of furnace materials, reducing the risk of hanging and collapsing materials in the furnace, and reducing the occurrence of electrode breakage.
Reduce energy consumption: DC power supply avoids problems such as skin effect and eddy current loss in AC mineral heat furnaces, with a high power factor of 0.94-0.96, high energy utilization efficiency, and can effectively reduce electricity consumption.
Cost reduction: The electrode current density decreases, electrode consumption decreases, and overall production costs also decrease due to improved production efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
Application field
Mainly used in the production of ferroalloys, such as ferrosilicon, manganese iron, chromium iron, tungsten iron, silicon manganese alloys, etc., it can also be used in the production of chemical raw materials such as calcium carbide. In some non-ferrous metal smelting processes that require high metal purity, there is also a certain potential for application, such as recovering copper, nickel, lead, tin, zinc and other metals from non-ferrous metal slag, or directly smelting metals from non-ferrous metal ores.
