The mineral tailings fused mullite electric furnace is a high-temperature electric melting furnace developed for the value-added reuse of mineral processing tailings rich in alumina and silica. By proportioning flotation tailings and coal measures tailings with bauxite or alumina and melting at 1900-2100°C in an electric arc furnace, the equipment produces premium fused mullite refractory aggregate from mine waste. It offers mines and dressing plants an integrated solution for tailings reduction, resource recovery and refractory raw material production.

Mineral tailings are dewatered, dried, ground and proportioned with bauxite or alumina to reach the mullite composition. The blended charge is fed continuously into the electric arc furnace, where the melt is homogenized at high temperature. Impurities such as iron oxide are reduced and separated, and the purified mullite melt is poured into cooling pits, then crushed and classified into fused mullite aggregates for refractory applications.
