Long fiber geotextile fabric is prescribed by the state, a kind of new construction material that used for civil engineering. Short Filament Polyester Geotextile Construction phase: Laying the foundation for stable use
1. Pre-construction Preparation
Site Clearance: Thoroughly remove sharp debris such as stones, rebar, and glass from the construction area. Level the ground and prevent protrusions from puncturing the geotextile.
Product Inspection: Verify that the geotextile specifications and quantity match the test report. Inspect the appearance for damage, mold, and unusual odors.
Tool Preparation: Prepare tools such as a heat bonding machine, sewing machine, measuring tape, and edge stones. Ensure the splicing equipment is functioning properly.
2. Standardized Construction Process
Laying Operation: Lay the geotextile in a "bottom-up, slope-first, bottom-later" sequence to avoid excessive tension leading to stress concentration. Allow for 5%-10% expansion and contraction.
Splicing Process: Use heat bonding or sewing for splicing. The overlap width should be ≥10cm. The heat bonding temperature should be controlled at 150-180℃ to ensure no delamination or cracking at the splice.
Protective Covering: Within 48 hours of completion, promptly cover the geotextile with a protective layer of soil, gravel, or geomembrane to prevent UV exposure.
Mechanical Operations: Construction machinery must operate on the protective layer. If direct contact with the geotextile is necessary, wooden planks must be laid down to distribute pressure; dragging or rolling is prohibited.
3. Construction Quality Acceptance
Visual Inspection: No damage or wrinkles; laid flat; joints neat and secure.
Performance Testing: Randomly sample and test the joint strength; it must reach at least 80% of the parent material strength; test the permeability coefficient; it must meet design requirements.
Hidden Works Records: Record in detail the laying range, joint locations, coverage thickness, etc., and archive for future reference.
