Our D28 3D Welding Table for Shipyard and Marine Fabrication is a robust modular fixturing solution specially designed for shipbuilding and offshore steel fabrication. The full 5-sided D28 hole grid supports 3D multi-direction clamping. With stress-relieved box structure and nitrided working surface, it stays stable under heavy loads and harsh marine workshop environments. It can be freely combined to build large work bases for hull parts, lifting lugs and marine pipe assemblies, greatly cutting your cost on custom fixed jigs.

CNC Machining Process for Holes
Welding of the complete box structure → Manual stress-relief aging → Rough milling of all six faces → Secondary aging → Precision CNC milling, drilling, and reaming of five faces in a single setup
Key Point: The top surface and four side walls are machined in a single setup. This ensures perpendicularity between the holes, the top surface, and the side walls, eliminating cumulative errors caused by multiple re-clamping operations. Many low-cost manufacturers machine the top surface and side plates separately; this results in poor perpendicularity after assembly and causes cross-face tooling to jam.
Hole machining process: Drilling → Counterboring/Enlarging → Precision reaming to H7 tolerance. The Φ28 H7 specification implies a hole diameter tolerance of 28mm (+0.021 / 0 mm), ensuring smooth insertion and removal of locating pins while maintaining minimal clearance for stable, repeatable positioning.
C2 chamfering at hole openings: Removes burrs to prevent scratching the outer surface of locating pins and prevents welding spatter from snagging on the hole edges.
X/Y coordinate grid lines: Laser-etched markings on the table surface (not paint). Painted markings peel off quickly when exposed to the high-temperature welding spatter common in shipyards; laser-etched markings are wear-resistant and suitable for long-term use in layout and scribing inspections.
Core Difference: Standard manufacturers machine the plates before welding the box structure, leading to welding deformation that distorts hole spacing. We perform overall CNC machining only after the box structure is formed and stress-relieved, ensuring long-term stability in hole spacing accuracy.
