The base tube is manufactured from seamless ferritic alloy-steel pipe, specifically intended for high-temperature service. The addition of a continuous, serrated spiral fin via High Frequency Welding (HFW) technology dramatically increases the external surface area, resulting in significantly enhanced heat exchange efficiency compared to bare pipes.

The "serrated" feature of the fin—small, regular cuts along the fin edge—further disrupts laminar flow and promotes turbulence in the surrounding fluid (typically gas or air), leading to even higher heat transfer coefficients. This makes it an ideal and reliable solution for industrial systems where efficient heat dissipation or recovery under high pressure and temperature is critical.

  • Primary Material Standard: The base tube conforms to ASTM A335/A335M, the Standard Specification for Seamless Ferritic Alloy-Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service. The latest active version of this standard is ASTM A335/A335M-24. Pipes per this specification are suitable for bending, flanging, and fusion welding operations.

  • Grade DesignationGrade P22. This grade is also known by its Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation K21590.

  • Material Classification: P22 is a low-alloy ferritic steel containing chromium and molybdenum, often referred to as 2.25Cr-1Mo steel. Ferritic steels in the ASTM A335 standard are defined as low- and intermediate-alloy steels containing up to and including 10% chromium.
