Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger ASME Section VIII Div. 1 TEMA Class C
High-Pressure (HP) Superheater shell and tube heat exchanger fabricated for geothermal power generation installations. Operating as an ASME Section VIII Division 1 stamped TEMA heat exchanger, this unit processes n-Butane C.G. on the shell side and geothermal steam/brine on the tube side. Note: High-density finned tube bundle options can be integrated for gas-phase thermal recovery systems requiring expanded external surface area per project requisites.
Core Technical & Fabrication Features
ASME Code Stamped Structural Design: Fabricated and stamped in compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 1 and TEMA Class C criteria.
Corrosion-Resistant Cladding: Applies a 10 mm minimum SS 316L weld overlay across the SA-266 Class 2N tubesheet face and a 3 mm minimum SS 316L cladding layer on internal channel surfaces.
Tube-to-Tubesheet Fabrication: Includes strength-welded tube-to-tubesheet joints verified via pre-hydrostatic helium leak testing.
Mounting Integration: Equips fixed and sliding saddles with 3 mm SS 304 baseplates under sliding units to accommodate axial thermal expansion.
Quality Assurance & Testing Specifications
Radiographic Examination (RT): 100% full radiographic testing (RT-1) executed on all longitudinal and circumferential pressure-retaining butt welds.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) performed in accordance with ASME Code Section V.
Hydrostatic Pressure Test: Shop hydrostatic test executed at vendor-calculated pressures matching the highest requirement between ASME Code and project engineering standards.
Joint Integrity Testing: Strength-welded tube-to-tubesheet connections undergo helium leak testing prior to final hydrostatic pressure testing.
Material Certification: All pressure-retaining components, shell attachments, and lifting lugs furnished with EN 10204 Type 3.1 inspection certificates.
