ASTM A192 / ASME SA192 covers minimum-wall-thickness, seamless carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes engineered for high-pressure service, shell and tube heat exchanger units, and custom u tube bundle configurations. Manufactured through hot-finished or cold-drawn seamless processes, cold-finished tubes undergo mandatory thermal processing at 1200°F (650°C) or higher to achieve optimum ductility and strength for finned tube bundle fabrication and heat exchanger tubesheet expansion.

Required Inspection & Testing
Hydrostatic Test: 100% executed on all finished tubes per ASME SA450 prior to assembly into any shell and tube heat exchanger or tube bundle.
Nondestructive Electric Examination: 100% Eddy Current Testing (ECT) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) per ASTM E213 / ASTM E426 to detect longitudinal flaws.
Mechanical & Metallurgical Testing: Flattening, flaring, hardness, and tensile testing performed per heat lot in accordance with ASTM A370.
