ASTM B171 C46400 Tubesheet for Fixing and Sealing Heat Exchange Tubes in Ships and Power Industry
ASTM B171 C46400 tube sheet is a copper-zinc-tin alloy material (Cu 59-62%, Sn 0.5-1%). With excellent seawater corrosion resistance (anti-desinicification) and high thermal conductivity (~110 W/m·K), it is widely used in heat exchangers and condensers in the fields of ships, power and chemical industry to fix and seal copper-nickel or titanium heat exchange tubes.
Its tensile strength is 380-450 MPa, and it has good processability (easy to drill and weld). It is suitable for manufacturing porous tube sheets, but it needs to avoid strong acid, ammonia environment and high temperature over 200°C to prevent corrosion or strength loss. It is a classic choice that takes into account performance and economy under medium and low pressure and medium and low temperature corrosion conditions.

Application
Shipbuilding and marine engineering
Seawater condenser/cooler: used as a tube sheet to fix copper-nickel alloy (such as C70600) or titanium heat exchange tubes, resistant to seawater corrosion and biofouling, used in ship engines, ballast water systems and offshore platform cooling devices.
Desalination device: connect high-pressure pipelines in seawater desalination systems, and use high thermal conductivity (~110 W/m·K) to improve heat exchange efficiency.
Power and energy industry
Power station condenser: support copper alloy or titanium tube bundles, guide cooling water (seawater or fresh water) and steam heat exchange, resist dezincification corrosion, and ensure long-term operation stability.
Geothermal system: medium and low temperature (≤150°C) geothermal fluid heat exchanger, resistant to weak acid medium corrosion.
Chemical industry and refrigeration
Low-pressure heat exchanger: used in weak acid, alkali or organic solvent environments, such as chemical reactor cooling units and refrigeration unit tube sheets.
Air conditioning system: chiller tube sheet, resistant to moisture oxidation, and extended equipment life.
